The Case of the Magic Mix-Up

Pro. Lodger was called to the scene of the theft of a Houdini poster.  “All the thief left was this note”, said the chief of police,  which read:

The poster is hidden at the grave of the great french magician.  “Prepare to excavate Houdini’s grave”, said the chief.  “Nope.” said Lodger.

What grave?

Answer: Although the poster stolen was of Houdini, Houdini was American.  The grave belonged to Houdin!
