MAHF Book Club: At The End Of This Blog

Introducing the newest addition to the ever-growing MAHF family-a book club!  Here’s how it goes-I will select a short book based on one of the things we cover around here-be it Muppets, paleontology or even the occasional Greek myth!  Today’s installment is a piece of classic Muppet literature.  The Monster At The End Of This Book.

A Lovable, Furry Old Book

Here’s what happens.  To the joy of my teachers, I will describe the plot in the format of beginning, middle and end.  Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

  • Beginning-Grover learns that there is a monster at the end of this book, prompting him to ask the readers not to turn the page.  Gee, Grover, some of us actually want to read this book!
  • Middle-Grover keeps trying to keep us away from the end of this book.  The result is snapped ropes, bent nails, and a lovable, furry old monster buried underneath a pile of cement and bricks.
  • End-Believe it or not, the monster at the end of this book was-Grover!  And we were so scared!

Now, let’s discuss the book using these two prompts.

  1. Does Grover seem to care that we want to read this book?  Could he do better the next time that there is a monster at the end of this book?
  2. Does Grover seem concerned for his own safety while trying to keep us from reaching the end of this book?

Next time, we learn how wrong we were about dinosaurs!  See ya!
